White on White

Thought that for a different twist, I'd go with something where the shadows were created by the lay of the land, underneath a blanket of snow - rather than shadows cast by objects in the landscape.

This scene is out on the Smith Dorrien Road, by the turn off to Mount Shark.

The leading lines of the shadows work very well at creating a strong sense of depth here, Karen. Your comp. works very well and that's a big challenge with an open subject like this.

Well done! The shadows and the vegetation are well balanced in the frame, difficult to do.

Congratulations on pulling a lovely composition out of what many would see as a featureless scene. Looks perfect to me.

The bitter cold of the scene comes through with the glossy frozen grass in a playful pattern with the shadows. Interesting and unusual take on the challenge.

Karen, not sure about this one to be honest, I like it but think maybe there is too much going on. Maybe a slight crop across the top. Reminds me of Kansas. Thanks for sharing.
