Another Bufflehead

I got a little closer to the Buffleheads today. I must be getting more stealthy or they just don't consider me a threat anymore. This guy is not doing anything particularly interesting, although I do like the bow wave in front of him. I was just thrilled to get a little closer. I think the IQ is bit better as a result.

Processed using Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CC 2014. Comments and critiques welcome.

Nice Action with the bit of a wave in front of the bird. Exposure looks good and so do colors. I would maybe brighten up the water a touch

Jerry, you did well to get close to this Bufflehead - I do notably less well in photographing Golden Eyes that are a related species. These nuanced colours of the head feathers are quite intriguing. The background colours don't bother me, perhaps the blues are a trifle over saturated but as such I feel the BG compliments the birds regalia. Nice one Jerry. I agree the water could be lightened a tad but no big deal.

Another solid bufflehead capture Jerry. The details are sharp. Pretty soon you'll be in the water with 'em.

Hi Jerry,

That wave is pretty cool. I like the colors on the head and there's detail in those whites too. If you want , you could lighten the water slightly, but truthfully, I like it as is :toast: ........................Jim

looks really good Jerry--and I agree about the bow wave. nice that they are getting used to your visits. the only thing I might do is experiment with a slightly less centered comp.
