Fallen Comrade

Went into the archives for this one. Taken a couple of years ago on a wet hike in Oregon. For some reason, it felt to me as though the trees that were standing, were peering down at the fallen one, as if to pay their respects to a dead comrade.

Thanks for looking, comment appreciated.

Fog adds much to mood and mutes the lighting. This shows a good stand of timber against the sky. The fallen snag brings the eyes to the greenery. Well done.

I love the pov but the foreground green a tiny bit too saturated. A high key black and white would look super too. :jump: Well done and

Yes - I can see the "attitude" in the tall trees. I probably would not have come up with it myself, but once you point out it is indeed there!

Hi Carey,

The perspective of this shot and fog tells the story. Well done :toast: ........Jim

lovely mood here. There is quote a bit of CA left in the image. Have you tried cropping a bit of left side?

Thanks everyone.

Rick, the saturation looks fine on my home computer but at work it does appear to be a bit stronger so not sure which one is more accurate. I'm looking into a new computer with calibration tools so hopefully in the future there won't be any issues.

Prashant, I'm not sure what you mean by "CA". do you mean chromatic aberration?

Hi Carey,

I really enjoy your perspective on this capture. The low perspective of the fallen log and vegetation is great for the feeling of the trees looking down. This image has the feel of the giant trees indeed looking down on their fallen comrade. The fog diffuses the light nicely, and I am am enjoying your photography very much.
