A real pleasure to spend a third season with these guys and to watch them have their own broods, then the growing up period and fantastic interaction that happens. This is the older of the three owlets caught in his 'mock charge' LOL.

Thanks for either viewing or commenting on the previous image.

What a wonderful shot - I like the tilted head and the low angle, however the large OOF area is a distraction. I would rather have it removed from the photo then have it in.

Luke I can crop, but wanted some space for 'him' to run into, could loose some, not all, not an issue.

Wonderful capture Steve. Quite honestly I'm not bothered by the OOF foreground and in fact think It adds perspective-but of course that's just my opinion. :toast:

The bird pose and eye contact are great.
I kind of agree with Luck abour the OOF area. If this were mine, I would try to return to the place, photograph that area in focus and create an image which would be the merge of the two.

Steve: I really like the pose and intensity of the owl. Nice exposure and details. I'm bothered by the large OOF area in the front. I understand the desire to leave some room for the owl to move into but I'm pulled to the OOF area. If it were sharp (or at least largely in focus) I think it would have worked well.

I agree with Luke. If you could add a little canvas at the top and sides as well, it wouldn't be quite so tight.

Keith/Phil, I'll just chop out the front portion and do have leeway either side, perhaps a 10x8 maybe in order and still allows IQ and won't hurt the pixels. At f/8 and retaining SS to freeze the action, any more DoF would not actually add much, if anything, I think it would have to be a substantial amount and not achievable to capture the moment?

Thanks .

Love the determined look on this little guy's face. The large OOF area is a distraction, but there was little you could have done about it. Great capture.

Hi Steve,

Looks like this little guy is coming over to kick some @%%@ . I especially like your repost and the crop has taken care of the big OOF area. Well done :toast: .....................Jim
