Fall Patterns

This is part of my Ripples file. Because of its detailed repeating designs I am putting it into the Patterns Weekly Challenge. Taken with Canon SX50, ISO 800, F5.6, 1/800 sec.

Hope you enjoy. Always appreciate your input.

   OOOOOooooooh!!!!, or something like that came out of my mouth when this opened. This is spectacular Patricia. The lone leaf is a master stroke IMO. My only nit is that you didn't post a larger version. Of course a color junkie like me would have certainly ODed if you had so perhaps for the best . Great vision, great image.>=))>

Oh, my! Those are some glorious reflections Patricia. I'm having mixed feelings about the leaf. I like the extra interest that it adds, but I'd sure like to get completely lost in just the pattern...neither of those detracts from how amazing the colors in this are.

Oh, this looks like a real winner Patricia. You are the absolute NPN master of water reflections. I'm not sure how this was achieved but my guess is that you're using a very long lens.

I'm on the fence about the leaf. Does it improve the image? Yes. Because otherwise it would just be a pattern. But it just looks incongruous with the rest of it. I think it's because the water now looks like an abstract and not water and therefore the leaf in water requires a jump in imagination. But if I don't try to make sense out of it and just stare at it unconsciously it is a marvelous creation. Two big thumgs up.

This is truly beautiful, Patricia. The swirling color patterns are mesmerizing, the half-submerged leaf adds a touch of "reality" that I think makes the image work even better! :toast:

Masterful work, Patricia, my favorite of the postings to date. The leaf is a great counterpoint in my opinion, though perhaps not given the subject of the WC, the image is better with it. :toast: :toast:

Very beautiful colors and patterns, Patricia! I like the leaf! It makes sense to show an autumn leaf in with the fall colors reflected in the water. It's like the fall colors and the autumn leaf are part of the same story.
