Starry, Starry Night

I have had time lately to go out and shoot at night, well very early in the morning. It has also allowed me to try some different areas and compositions. This was shot at Buffalo Creek Wildlife Management Area. Half the sky was clear, but the clouds were starting to move in. Just a beautiful chilly early morning with no wind under a magnificent sky. It makes you feel like this couldn't happen by accident. Thanks for your comments and critiques.

The starry sky towering above the rock structure works really well Richard. I am however a bit distracted by the planet (?) to the right, which is quite big. I think these type of clouds add a lot to night photos, as long as they don't turn orange because of light pollution. So I like how they appear in your photo!

Correct Richard, there are no coincidences, just the Lord's hand in everything. :wavey: Nice one.

Those clouds really add a lot to the night sky. They add another dimension to just the starry sky. I agree that the really bright star should be cloned out.

I agree with the others about the clouds, the hand of the Lord and removing the bright spot of light.

This is a really cool view to the sky and nice exposure on the mountain. I like your choice in WB too, adds to a the cool, starry mood. The ss may be just slightly long as the stars have a bit of an elongated shape, especially venus. I also find the image a little sky heavy -- I might have liked a bit more view to the ground for context.

Nice skyscape, and I like the clouds a lot. I could see dropping the cyan a bit--there's a cyan halo around the moon. The foreground detail works well, too.
