This was taken at the feeding station of Finley NWR. There were brush piles and several perches. I was able to sit quietly about 20-30 feet away and my presence didn't disturb the birds. A metal portion of a feeder was cloned out.

Canon 7D
100-400 mm at 365 mm
ISO 100
1/500 at f5.6
Tripod
processed in LR5 and PS CC2014

thanks for looking, comments appreciated.

Beautiful capture. Perhaps a bit too much canvass on the right, top and bottom for my tastes, but a really nice image with a killer background. I am certainly no bird expert, but do Juncos have pink feathers?

Thanks for the comment, Jerry. No, Junco's don't have pink feathers, but I don't see that on my screen. The breast is white and the coloration on the bird's right side is tan. I agree with your thoughts on the canvas, especially on bottom.

Allen, I think I would prefer a tighter crop also. Junco looks good to me, nice pose and head turn.
