GBH Looking Good!

I recently returned from a very chilly trip to Florida. I managed to get a few photos to post. This Great Blue Heron landed about 15 feet away from me on a beach. I had to back up to get it in the frame. (That never happens in Illinois) I like the breeding plumage and the way he "puffed up" for the shot. I realize this may seem a little tight but it's full frame top to bottom.

Thanks for looking, comments & suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Steve, I have the same lens on a 7D. Recently got the 300 f/4 and it is so much easier, with IS to frame shots hand held than the 400 f/5.6. Its a bit slower to focus but you bump it a couple of times and its very sharp. Looks like you caught him with his neck down and not extended. Nice shot.

Nice light, sharp, and a super puffed up pose. Not to tight IMO.
