Floyd:

Thanks for sharing some of tranquil winter quiet along the Merced with us. I really like the snow mounds and reflections, but somehow the upper part of the forest does not add as much. The conversion came out pretty well, though I haven't seen much advantage in the B&W converters over a more manual approach with color channels, curves etc. each of us gravitates toward a style of working so pay no attention to my comments and do what you end up suiting yourself with.

Again thanks for sharing! Regards. Tom

moody scene and well composed image. Only, the sharpness is so-so, and some zones of the snow are a little burned.
All the best,

This is a beautiful winter scene, Floyd. I think the b/w works very well here, of course, I'm a sucker for b/w. The snow and dark water and reflections really have a wonderful range of tones. I like it.

Interesting take. The ice floes may dominate a little too much, perhaps improved by a slightly higher angle.
