Patrick, I really like this image. I like how you went out in this weather to look for the shots (I stayed home). But I was rewarded(with your image). The shutter is set at just the right speed for the surf. Love it.

Real nice scene - love the movement (and direction) of the water here.

Only issues I see are some chromatic aberration on the diagonal posts and some jagged edges - but the edges are almost certainly a result of compressing the massive D800 file down to 1200 pixels.

Real nice, Patrick. I really like the perspective. I am seeing the strong CA that Luke mentioned. Maybe from some masking?

I like the symmetric composition and the action in the water. The water on the left looks a tad too green, and I also see the CA and the jaggies. I am also seeing some sharpening halos--most prominent on the left. The sky color looks nice, as do the whites in the water.

I want to thank all of you who posted comments. I am baffled by the halo around the pier. It did not show on the screen in the various iterations we worked on, nor did it appear when I posted it on my website or in Facebook. Figuring this out is way above my pay grade. :toast:

Patrick: The CA issues aside, I think this is a superbly conceived and crafted image. Dynamic comp and a marvelous capture. >=))>
