Convict's Escape

Here's an image from my Eastern Sierras trip last year. I went to Convict Lake to catch the sunrise on a cool, crisp morning. With the moon shining bright, prior to the sunrise, I caught some nice Alpenglow on the mountain. The lone cloud in the sky soon drifted away leaving me with the cloudless sunrise. However, I thought I'd toss this one here to see what you guys think.

Your comments and feedback are much appreciated!

Sairam, this is beautiful. Very artistic. Love the color combo and the light on the foreground line of rocks is divine. Love it. :toast:

I absolutely love that cloud, so I probably prefer this one over the cloudless one, but that's hard to say without having seen the other one. The pinkish light on the mountain top is also very beautiful. Nice work!

I think that scenario and composition are simply excellent, as the sharpness.
Only I wonder about the mountains pink/magenta dominant colour.... if this tuning is ok or it tends to simplify the colours palette.
All the best,

Beautiful colors in this and a nice comp Sairam. On my monitor it's very dark with not much fore ground detail. But that could just be my monitor. Would like to see this on a black back round as I think that would make a lot of difference. Nice job on this.

Sairam I had something going on with my monitor earlier and recalibrated it and this looks wonderful now. Great image.

Very lovely composition. The light on Laurel Mountain is wonderful, and the cloud adds a nice dynamic.

Sairam, this small image is only 600 px wide. You can post an image that's 720 px on the longest side. In this case, the included large version is a must-see.

Nicely done.

Nice, Sairam! That glow is great and the reflection and stars make the image that much more engaging. :toast:

Beautiful Sierra scene! I like the dark moodiness of the image.
