The Winter Canyon

I'm recently back from a 10 day workshop in Northern Norway and the Lofotens which I co-lead with Arild Heitmann & Stian Klo. This is from one of their 'secret' locations which I am grateful for them showing me since the region is becoming increasingly popular among landscape photographers in recent years.

Single exposure with Nikon D810, 14-24mm, 0.8 seconds.

dark and ominous and chilly. The perspective and relative sizes makes for an interesting image.

nice lead and simple comp. the color and exposure does well for the darker mood. I find the vignette a bit strong, esp considering the likely stopped down aperture

Apart from a bit too much vignetting for my taste, this is a stunning picture. Great capture!

Fun spot. Glad you got to team up with them. Seem like fun folk :) Good choice of processing considering the conditions.

I like it much. The mood and the reality of the scene is evoked with excellent technical skills.
And also the composition is about perfect. Clap hands from me.
All the best,

No nits from me, I'm not even seeing much in the way of vignetting. Super comp and I love the residual color in the mono. :toast:

Really like how you got low enough to capture all the snow patterns.
