Another one from the nacreous clouds display that I saw 4 years ago. I'm still waiting to see a new display, but these things are rare unfortunately....

Here you can find some more info about these clouds on the Atmospheric Optics site: http://www.atoptics.co.uk/fz959.htm

105 mm, f/11, ISO 100, 1/8.

C&C welcome! Large version is included.

Wow, I thought this was a long exposure at first glance Roel. Really cool cloud display with some sweet color mised in. I'll have to check out the atmospheric optics site. :toast:

The clouds are spectacular, but I think that the delicate tree silhouettes are what gives the picture its real impact - nicely done!

Very well done, cool sky. I like the silhouetted trees as the foreground, nice anchor. To my eye, I would like a bit of a CCW rotation. It has a bit of a leaning feel to me, even though there is not much to base it on.

Roel, I really surprised this doesn't have a lot more comments!...It's beautiful and really well done. I like the light along the horizon and the fine detail in the tree branches looks great. Those clouds look fantastic and looks like you captured them with the perfect shutter speed. Excellent work! Hope you get to see a new display before too much longer!

Very cool sky in this Roel and I like the fore ground trees silhouetted like this. Thanks for showing these unusual clouds. Very interesting.
