Skimming Cormorant

While looking for Buffleheads, this Cormorant flew right past me and presented an easy flight shot. This capture managed to show off some pretty nice feather detail along with some subtle colors, and of course those green eyes. I also like the fact that the left wing is skimming the water. Processed using Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CC 2014. Comments and critiques welcome.

Sweet shot. The wing touching the water makes it really special. Like the background, the feathers and the composition.

I like this a lot Jerry. The wingtip brushing the water is great and you successfully captured all the subtle color tones in the Cormorant which is not easy to do. Well done!

Those puppies fly fast! Not quite as easy as you make out.

Excellent cormorant flight image. I really like the light and how the water color compliments the brown in the flight feathers.

Excellent detail in the blacks and you caught the nice iridescent sheen on the neck, the wing tip just touching the water is great. From the water ripples I was thinking it might need a little ccw rotation but I'm not sure. Sweet shot Jerry!
