A foggy morning on Kingwood Lakes after heavy rains and storms brought some tree limbs floating by.

I like this a lot. The bold foreground contrasts with the ghostly reflections and background nicely. I could do without the graininess so often a result of the Silver Efex presets.

Rick: Well seen. I like the ghostly trees and their reflections. The floating branch is just right. Well done.>=))>

A neat interpretation, Rick. I like how the foreground stick and it's reflection stand out so well against the faded trees and their reflections. If all the dark spots scattered throughout are from Silver efex, I could do without them.

This is a real fine composition, the harsh piece of would against the soft reflected background. I'm no fan of the effect though, I think it would look better as a normal photo. The softness of this photo is one of its strengths, and the noise and spots undo this softness.

This is fantastic Rick. Love this a lot. Love the simplicity. The only thing I don't like here is the grainines but still it's a very good image.

That is pretty freakin amazing. Love it with the slight reflections. Needs a slight tilt correct cw.

Very interesting! I like the bw conversion, the milky, grainy look works very well.

Thanks for the c&c. Reworked this without b&w conversion as shot.

Cool.
I agree with the others that the spots/graininess detracts from the overall effect of this. It's a beautiful, simple image.

Excellent!! Wonderful mood to this. I also agree with the comments about the spots, but otherwise, outstanding.

Kinda interesting how different people have likes for one or the other. Art is in the eyes of the beholder.

Fantastic image. The mystical fog and subtle silhouettes of the trees contrasting with the sharp foreground is in a word, brilliant. My only suggestion would be to minimize that speckled graininess if possible.

Great reflection image with very nice tones Rick. I'm another for less spots but a great find anyways. Great job.

For me the repost is much better than the original. Even those it's a small change. By making the branch more delicate it fits the background much better. I felt there was a clash between the two in the original image. Although to be honest they don't really integrate very well. It looks like the dark branch has been juxtoposed over the faint trees. I have a hard time seeing the two as one.

nicely done. i'm in agreement with comments about specks/grain but in terms of tonality and comp, i prefer the original post.
