The Night Is Filled With Eyes!
this Mama wolf spider was hanging around my back porch. I thought she was cool...but, when I saw the beady little eyes of some of her babies and her own creepy eyes , I knew this was a keeper.

EWWWW! Otherwise, a somber pano of the spider. Well done! :toast:

The light/heavy dark combo makes this quite dramatic, Lucy, and the crop emphasizes the shape of this spider. Cool catch.

Nature has a way of being repulsive and fascinating at the same time. Really like the crop and the reflection in the little pebbles under the spider.

VERY VERY creepy, but cool Lucy. I am not a big fan of spiders, so this would have most likely haunted me for a few nights. nice angle on this.

Kurt, she may well have haunted you, if you had seen how big this mama was! She was about 4 inches from toe to toe  Wolf spiders are very fast, and, actively, hunt their prey. They have a wicked bite and can even inject venom, if provoked.
Luckily, the only bugs that scare me are scorpions, wasps/hornets, and brown recluse spiders. And, I just plain hate fire ants and mosquitoes  But, take comfort, that if you just photograph bugs, and don't mess with them, they will, usually, leave you alone.

Love it Lucy. Look at all those nice creepy babies. . . which you will soon see all over the place. Cool pano shot. I really like this one.
