Sony A77
Minolta 200mm macro
ISO 200, 1/40 @ f8

Not quite a pristine perfect subject but the setting came close. Taken near Washington on the Brazos state park this morning on my first wildflower hunt of the spring. The flowers are coming in late but promises to be a good year. All comments welcome. >=))>

Been a long time since I've seen one of these, but you got my two favorite colors, "War Eagle" orange and blue! Good DOF on the Paintbrush, and I really like the OOF Blue Bonnets!

Nice close up image of classic texas wildflowers, Bill. I like the painterly look and the great colors. The paintbrush stands out nicely from the bg.

Well, it's far better than any of my efforts over the years with paintbrush, so I have to say that I'm impressed. It's difficult to find this subject in a natural setting with a complementary background and all the other essential elements. You did very well here. Maybe add a bit of a vignette to focus attention on the main subject a little more? That's about all I can think of to improve the image.

Once again you've got the dof just perfect, Bill, with the sharp upper area showing some nice detail, and the rest of the plant gently merging into the bg. The background is the real treat - that marvellous blue especially !!

Great set of colors here, Bill. The Paintbrush stands out well due to color and sharpness, but the bluebonnets in the background add well to telling the story of Texas wildflowers.

The blue flowers in the background (your lupines?) push the subject out of the frame. Excellent photo for me, Bill.

Very nice Bill! Can't think of a better picture of the Texas wildflower season. Focus, dof, background... everything is right on. Love it!
