Tufted Titmouse ID Pose

by Wayne Jones

Continuing with another shot of a Tufted Titmouse. I liked the lighting more on both of my previous shots of this species, but I think this one has the "field guide" pose.

Canon 7D Mark II; 100-400mm.
1/200 sec. @ f/7.1; ISO 1250
(shot using an Acratech GP ballhead in "gimbal" mode)

I suspect you're right about the field guide pose, Wayne, but I prefer the ones that show more "personality". This one feels pretty static to me, though the detail is superb.

Another nice one Wayne. I do like the pose, good detail also. There does seem to be a slight magenta cast, at least on my monitor. Thanks for sharing.

Wayne, this is a beautiful look at this Titmouse. You've got excellent details in the bird and the colors in the background match perfectly.

Wayne, I just went back and reviewed the three titmouse images you reference here. I agree that the current one is field guide ready but my fav is the first because of the lighting, it has good ID characteristics and enough "cuteness" to win out over the others.

Way to go Wayne, great ID shot with plenty of sharp detail. A little more head turn towards you would have jumped this up a notch but a sweet shot none the less.
