Or "When a Photograph Lies". This Green-winged Teal was just shaking off after a bath at Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center in Port Aransas Texas, but the whole area was thick with birds so there were several in the foreground. The position of this female, which I think is a different species, just happened to make it look like he was showing off for her.

7Dii, 300mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC on monopod, f/8.0, 1/1600, iso 800, aperture priority, no exposure compensation, though I added a fair a mount in post processing as well as bumping the color temperature a touch. Processed in LR5 and CS6. Cropped to 8.8 MP from the original 20. Taken February 22nd at 8:23 am under overcast skies.

Comments and criticisms are most appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

Great action shot, Dennis, even if the FG duck does give it an extra "suggestive" touch. Nice colors and details, especially the water splashes. At 1600 sec., the wing blur tells us how fast the action is, too. I like it.

This is a fine catch on the shaking pose, Dennis, with good details in the head, body, at that back foot. His speculum has a fine glow.
