We had light to moderate showers all day Wednesday, so I took the opportunity to pursue catching the rebound action of raindrops hitting my pond with cool weather colors in the lily pads and a nice pattern reflected in the water. Someday (maybe) I'll get some action like this at the edge of a thunder shower. Then I may be able to get the dof that I want at a much lower ISO... Nice catch, Mark!
Magnificent comp, lines and colors. I like the stem going down and into the bottom of the pond. Just love this photo. The rain looks great to a thirsty Californian!
So cool, great backyard image. The comp. and timing of drops is pretty perfect. Fine job on this.
Excellent, Mark! Good comp (almost a "Golden Ratio"). I like the repeating and overlapping ripples, the color and the curved upper surface of the water collecting on the lily pads.
Excellent shot! Great job freezing 3 rebound drops at once. Even without that the photo is terrific. Great colors, comp and light. Very well done!
Fantastic composition, Mark, and technically exquisite. In fact if I had a nit it might be that the drops on the leaves look almost too perfect, too sharp, to be real. A work of art nonetheless.
Nice 'sheen' across the pads with the rain drop patterns some of 'Nature's Best' work man
I'll give you half the credit here
Great comp - Very nice Mark!
Detail in the large size is stunning, Mark. These style of scenes have become a real specialty for you and are always extremely well thought out and photographed too. Quite amazing to see three of the airborne drops at almost the same elevation too.
I do wonder about a CP usage. In this case it might not have worked and you may have already tried that and saw negative results. In fact, it might have ruined the effect here entirely with allowing too much of the surface glare to be lost. Just thinking out loud and not any sort of nit as the image is flat out excellent IMO. Just more of a curiosity factor don't ya know......
How bout Ripples & Raindrops? Anyway, fantastic shot with the autumn colors and the raindrops on the lily pads. The composition is spot on too. Really, really nice!
What's not to like about this one?? The leaves are nicely situated with some attractive drops on them. The ripples in the water form very nice patterns, and last but not least, the three levitating drops are the icing on the cake! Great job!
Beautiful, nice composition with the colors over a darker mirror. It's really a very good idea, Mark, it's a magic picture. Bravo!

Great all around, wish I had a back yard like that.
I am really enjoying the contrast of the colors against the black water Mark. The circles created by the rain drops adds a nice degree of abstractness. Wonderful clarity too.
Hi Mark,
This image is a stunner for so many reasons. The resonance of the water droplets create a wonderful energy, and the color and detail in the Lilly pads is jaw droppingly gorgeous. The elements are expertly placed in this image as welll, and you have a wonderful work of Art in this capture Mark, CONGRATS!
Mark: Been away from Landscape for a week or so. My apologies for not noting this sooner. Just marvelous in every way. Very well done.>=))>
Really well done Mark. Magnificent placement, colors, and drops.
Really wonderful shot.
Lovely shot with a creative and effective use of shutter speed and ISO to enhance the image.
Excellent, Mark. Great combo of colors and patterns and the droplets are great.
Mark, Amazing shot! You really brought everything together beautifully. Excellent work!
Mark, This is a great art work for me. There is a metalic finish on those lilly pads.
