I was drawn to the interplay between the shapes, colors and light in this scene.  Another one from my Utah trip.

Nikon D810, 70-200mm 4.0

I see what you mean with the interplay, but it feels a bit right- and bottom-heavy to me. I do really like the lines an patterns though, so I think this would really benefit from a crop, removing about 1/5th of the left and the bottom.

Yes, Harley, the light/dark interplay works very well here with the erosion lines adding good interest.  The "balance" is unconventional but feels fine to me.  Now all you need to do is apply Tony's processing to add a touch of color. enlightened

I like how the gentle curves separate areas of different illumination - very evocative!

Great composition and use of light and shadow. The balance seems right on to me.

I love the erosion patterns in the sand. Great detail!

I like the interrplay of the various diagonal lines Harley.  I would say this may be a good candidate for B&W.

Another sweet one, Mr Harley.  I like the geometry represented by the angles in this image.  Nice play on shadow and light and the spider web of the main and mini drainages add great texture to the canvas.

The scale here is a bit hard to discern, which is just fine by me.  It seems to be a very nice abstract on a very large scale.  I like the light and dark contrasts, but find the dark element in the lower left a bit heavy relative to the rest of the scene.  Bringing out some of the texture that's hiding there might be one way to lighten it's weight while still maintaining the dark character.

I like the balance and all this mix of fine lines of erosion. I think you did very well with colors, shapes and light. I find this beautiful.

Beautiful creation, Harley. The detail that the 810 is providing here is really amazing and very necessary. The left side of the fg ridge does seem to be a bit too foreboding for this theme. A bit more color could be a good thing for this image, or just go to B&W.

Beautiful. I agree with the crop on the low and left area of the image, and add some contrast.

The larger version is the ticket on this one, Harley. I like how the surrounding hillsides here seem to make a sweeping bowl of the low land......no changes or ideas from me.....just liking it a lot.....laugh
