This is my first posting of a Green Crowned Night Heron. I see very few of these guys in my part of Texas. He (she) was very tolerant of me, which I found unusual, because most other heron species I am accustomed to are very shy and skittish. I have additional images of this guy that I will post. I just thought this particular one was humorous.

Sharp details, nice colors
Hi Jerry, I might try a 16 x 10 (or 9) pan vertical to emphasis the porrait nature of the shot, might be an alternative?

Jerry,
Wonderful shot. I think the expression is wonderful. You must have had a great conversation. I wonder how the image would look if you cloned the two OOF flowers above his head out.
Jerry: a unique and very appealing pose/portrait. Technicals are spot on and a nice mix of the cool blue and green tones. A very minor nit would to tone down or clone out most of the oof white flowers or at least the two near the head. Richard
Yeah! I am! Great photo, great title!
A great view of the blue-gray version of Big Bird. I believe that a more vertical crop will improve this image. Other than that, I like it a lot

Jerry - your picture practically jumped out at me. I made a similar picture years ago, which became a subject when I took up painting as a hobby. Around here we cal lthem yellow crowned night herons - don't know if yours is a diff species or diff local name
Neat portrait, Jerry. I like the direct pose and the way the grasses frame the bird.
Jerry right up my street ,love it!
