Last week, I had one Baltimore oriole come in at point blank range. The bird was dining on a june beetle and I shot the photo with the insects remnants gripped by the left foot. I wish I got the entire bird, but this was the best of the series. K5 IIs, 300mm f4 (1/200sec at f7.1, ISO 800, fill flash -2.67EV)...........................................Jim

They never seem to give one a complete view, do they? An excellent shot, despite the leaf blocking part of the view. It does seem a tad over sharpened in the large view.
Excellent exposure against that bright green bg, Jim. This really works well, and the missing tail isn't a big deal-we know where its hiding.
Beautiful colors and setting here Jim, the flash looks good except for the steel eye which you could work on darkening in the bottom of the eye. Using a flash bracket to get the flash out of the hotshoe will avoid this problem.
