Magnolia Fireflies

Good day NPN,

I saw a wonderful Anise Magnolia tree in glorious full bloom, and I decided to lay underneath this magnificent tree and try to capture the beauty of the tree. The sun was setting, and the sweet light was illuminating the white flowers like fireflies. The smell of this tree was intoxicating, and I must have spent 30 minutes under this tree chilling and capturing moments in time. This image called out to me for a black and white conversion, and I hope y'all enjoy it.

Any ideas for improvement, and I have found people really like the this image, and are emotionally impacted by the image.

How about y'all?

I don't have any idea to improve it because I love it like that. Beautiful composition, the B&W is a must for this picture, you got a great idea to take it like that. Bravo!

Works for me. I like it a lot. The B&W works really well, too. Real sweet.

Fireflies, pixies, fairies...whatever they are.  Art.

Love the composition and more importantly the feel.  As I step back and away from the image it gets amazing and more mystical.  Fantastic.

That's just art, Ryan, pure and simple. Wouldn't change a thing... one of the most unique images I've seen posted in quite a while.

This is really creative, and it is a real beauty! The dark trees with the bright leaves against a neutral background, it works perfectly!

Ryan, I need to say I thought there was something wrong with the processing on this one. But after really taking time to concentrate on what was wrong, there was absolutely nothing wrong beyond my own eyes playing tricks on me.

As a result I finally could appreciate this wonderful image for the beautiful scene that it is. What threw me off was seeing the sky as blotchy leaves at first glance, but once I got my eyes to shift.....WOW......very nice.....laugh

Very well seen and captured Ryan, just gets better the closer and longer you look at it, a sure sign of a good image!

Amazing capture Ryan.  I love images like this since they spark my imagination.  I think there is a nice balance between the black, white, and gray tones.

Masterful control of tones. I am particularly attracted to the intricate web of fine lines in the upper branches. The composition is a bit busy, but in an intriguing way. I find this image more intellectually stimulating than emotionally. There is so much to explore here. It's refreshingly different and creative.
