My prairie restoration is starting to produce some interesting wildflowers to photograph. Penstemon digitalis, which is known commonly as foxglove beardtongue, are in full bloom right now. K5 IIs, 300mm f4 plus 32mm extension (1/30 sec at f29, ISO 800). Levels, TK's luminosity masks on bright whites, Levels, denoise on BG................................Jim
Thanks Mark. I hope your Penstemon blooms as the flowers are quite spectacular. You may want to head to a mesic tall grass prairie to get one in bloom if yours decides to wait out a year............................Jim

6 commentsJim, how neat to have a prairie restoration happening. Those always take a while before you know what forbs have survived. This is a good look at this Penstemon with a nice gentle background setting off the white flowers. The whites look great. I planted Penstemon grandiflorus in one of my Montana gardens before I left last month with timed watering...sure hope it's the right amount of water...
Really nice, Jim. Love the comp and bg.
These really need to be seen large. Good DOF, but I wonder if you haven't lost a little resolution at F/29.
Nice composition, detail, and complimentary background.
Jim: Many kudos to you for your restoration project and congrats on seeing some fine results. Excellent capture. 2 thumbs up! >=))>
Simple and nicely presented. The ants, however, don't help the picture, I think.
