Red Velvet

by Patricia Brundage

Gallery: FloraPosted June 13, 20152,086 views11 comments

Beautiful red tuberous begonia hanging on my back porch.  Reds tend to bleed and lose their sharp focus.  What are you thoughts on this one?

Taken with Canon SX50, F4, 1/50 sec. ISO800, -03.

Thanks for looking.

This really captures the softness of flower petals beautifully.

Patricia - Layers and rich-luminiscent red plays magic on the eye. Loads of appeal here laugh

I like how the intensity of the red and the detail increases as you move to the center.  Really nice job.  A couple of things: I'm seeing small white dots in a few locations; not sure you wanted them or not.  Also, maybe clone out the beige area in the right upper corner.devil

Patricia: I have exactly ZERO begonia images worth keeping so this is a treat and a conviction that I just have not looked hard enough. Good vision and a fine result.>=))>

The image talks to me about a birth, something that is slowly materializing. Patricia, the elegance of your images is well known and here is enhanced for me by the low saturation of the red color. I love this work, this is my thought.
