"Treat the earth and all her aspects as your mother. Show deep respect to the mineral, plant and animal worlds. Do nothing to pollute the air or the soil. If others would destroy our mother, rise up with wisdom to defend her. "
~ from First Nation Code of Ethics.
Wild west Tarkine coast of Tasmania.
~ shot for the Tarkine in Motion project at Nelson Bay, Tarkine Coast, Tasmania

<div> Tarkine In Motion is a collaborative artistic endeavour. Over the Easter period, April 2-6, 2015 a number of artists from many fields gathered in this remarkable landscape to create. Taking inspiration from this place and interpreting their thoughts and feelings in their chosen field. The results will come together in a film, but will also be reworked into any number of visions. We don't know yet what they are, but whatever they are, they will represent a vision of the Tarkine never seen before and will be used by the Bob Brown Foundation in their efforts to have vast swathes of this special place protected from mining, forestry and those that disrespect the natural and cultural landscape.</div> <div> </div> <div>I arrived here after driving through the night, pitched my tent and read for a few hours, then went exploring to see what the day's end would offer. I landed here, on a shore of unique and ancient rocks. In a land which bears the evidence of a vibrant culture of Aboriginal people, before the arrival of white settlers, and the decimation of the native culture. The evening was dark and stormy. The seas here are the Roaring Forties, next landmass to the west is Africa. There is a wild and untamed nature to this place, thst I was hoping to capture.

Your images tend to portray the mood of a scene and this sure does the job.  Well planned, techically perfect and a great scene.

Beautiful image and great mood. The magenta cast works real well creating a sense of mystery and even foreboding.

This is just great, nothing more to say! Splendid capture and processing. The sky is just phenomenal, and the rocks are so very nice. More like this please!

Lovely details and imact-filled composition.   The purple hue adds mood and a stark abandoned feel to this.  Well done!

Thank you all ~ Gary Yeoh, if you go again, this in the northern third of the west coast, just south of a small town called Arthur's River, where there is an area known locally as 'The Edge of the World'.

Striking compostion Hillary but I think the color really sets the mood.  The lines in the log and sky are complimentary.  I love the quality of the light you captured.

A moving image in many respects, technically and artistically.  Your narrative, including the quote from the First Nation Code of Ethics makes this inspiring.  Best wishes for a successful project that will become an example to spread the message.

Really nice welcome back to NPN! Thank you all, I really appreciate your feedback. It seems the magenta caste was a good way to go ~ it was really a result of a higher layer of pink cloud, peeking through in places, and influencing the longer sky and water exposures.

WOW!  This is a magical image, Hillary.  The comp and focus blending make for an exceptional landscape presentation.  I love the quote, too.
