Fishing a Fox?
When I was taking this photo in Grand Teton National Park, I noticed a feather near the right eye of the fox kit. I was concerned that it's going to impact my shot. It wasn't until I opened the file that I figured out that it was a fishing hook. The fact that the fox kit looks content in the early morning sun despite being hooked near his eye is a testament about how resilient those creatures are. Now I find myself going back to this shot wishing I could reach out and remove the hook. The beauty of the fox in the warm light just made this shot so much harder to bear.

Beautiful Image of this Fox Kit. The portrait style composition, the detail along with the lighting you managed is a joy to view. On the other hand what a crying shame this cute little thing has to endure a life growing up with what is sure to be a detriment to it's well being. This is another example of how the callous disregard by some people for the proper use and appreciation of our natural resources effects wildlife in ways we could never imagine.
Well seen and presented with a touching commentary, hopefully this image can change a few attitudes of the people creating these problems.
A good illustration of the problems associated with lost or abandoned fishing gear. Good photo techs also. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful image. Sad to see the hook, but the fox looks healthy despite of it.
