Another photo of my favorite black bear family from the spring.  The sow was intent on getting a drink from a pond that wasn't too far from the road, so she led her family right down the hill toward us.  At one point, one of her twin cinnamon cubs jumped onto this boulder for a better view.

In my opinion the only way to improve this would be both cubs on the rock.

The youngster is offering an ideal attitude pose.  It would have been great if you could have had just that (with another foot or so of lens!) but the overall story comes through fine. The good blacks on the mother show how accurate you managed exposure and her lifted paw adds action dynamic.  Your composition choices work very well:  cub on top left third intersection, mama on other third coming into the frame, subtle balance of up down framing to place rocks as a close up horizon.  Plus great eye contact without either animal staring at the lens!
