Fresh catch on the James River where the Bald Eagle has made a remarkable comeback. Estimated 313 newborn this year. Great !

Nikon D700 with Nikon 200-400. F7.1 1/1000 ISO 450

I included a bit of shoreline as the crop without it looks dull at the top. Comments and critiques please.

Thanks

Wonderful detail in the fish and the Eagle, Andrew.  I like your choice of crop and the water coming off the fish.  The head and tail look rather dark-was it overcast when you took this?

Bright overcast. Head, tail and fish very slightly darkened to show detail. Thanks !!!!

Nice timing on this. I like the trailing water off the fish and good job with the exposure. It was a little unfortunate he was angled a little away form you, but nothing you could have done about it.

I think the shoreline enhances the image Andrew. The details are very sharp and I love the water trailing off the fish. Well done!
