The above image was created playing with the raw file; this is the jpg straight from the camera ...well, except downsizing and sharpening at the new size and adding a frame. (The first image inspired by Tony? Why would you think that?)

John, as soon as I saw this, I was thinking Tony Kuyper, especially with those dramatic blues. This has some great lines with the nearly horizontal color bands and the strong angled ridges. The extra detail seen in the larger version as well as the touch of bluegreen along the bottom add some extra pizazz to this fine view.

Lots to like here, John. I was in that area last May but not familiar with your specific location. Nicely processed to bring out the magical colors.

Magical colors indeed John. I just love those blues and greens against the earth tones of the desert.

Yes, I too thought I was looking at one of Tony's pictures, which is not a bad thing! I might test brightening up the darker red parts, but I am not at all sure that would be an improvement. This is, after all, very nice as is.

John, This is Fantastic! A real treat viewing the large version. Like others I thought of Tony when I first saw this one, and yes, that is not a bad thing. Excellent work!

Kuyperesque for sure, John. Love the colors you were able to bring out and I love the badlands as much as any subject for landscapes. Beautifully done.

Hi John,
Creative title, and the image is very nice. I particularly enjoy the transition of colors from bottom to top. The framing works well with the vertical lines in the fg leading into the diagonals, and back to the triangle in the ulc.
Beautiful work!

As Mark said, when I saw it, I thought it was from Tony Kuyper. Beautiful composition with the layers of colors and the textures. Very well done. I like it.
