Excellent, Ken. Good detail in both the blacks and the whites and a great pose with nice separation from the bg. Well done.

Lovely lighting on this bird Ken, there's a vignetting in the corners that I doubt you added that I am not sure about.

I like it but does it type and use Power Point? Any reason why it is called a Secretary Bird? I think you have a good exposure here bringing out the blacks and whites, shadows and highlights.

Nice pose and great job on the exposure with this bird Ken. I am wondering about the corners though. Looks like you had some heavy light falloff or did some vignette...just curious which?

Excellent detail and exposure on the bird. I'm wondering about the vignette as well, but actually think it enhances the comp by drawing greater attention to the bird. Nicely presented Ken.

Thanks everybody for your comments, they are much appreciated.
Firstly I corrected the "new name".
It is called a Secretary Bird because the vrest feathers supposedly resmble the quill pens used for writing which were generally stored behind the ears by secretaries,
The vignetting was not done by me I would have no idea how to, nor do I have any real idea as to how to remove it!
My Wildlife image had the same problem

Hi Ken
Hands down, you get some of the best birds. Nice work with the whites and exposure.

I love this species, very intriguing bird ! I like the vignette, makes you feel lik you're spying on the bird. POV is pleasant as well. Congrats ! Hans

Nice capture of a difficult subject, Ken. I once watched a female Secretary Bird stomp a four foot long Rock Python to death with two powerful kicks only to have it taken from her by her mate. He consumed the entire thing without sharing a single morsel. So yes, I get the "Long Legged Ground Eagle" moniker though I've never heard them called that before.
The vignetting, although not necessarily objectionable in this instance, may be an indicator of a problem developing in your equipment, probably the lens. I'll go take a look at your wildlife post. How do you process you images?
