I posted this image on March 26th to a lukewarm reception, mainly due to the busy bg. I went back later and reworked it by treating the bg and the bird seperately. I desturated the bg a bit, brightened the bird and increased the saturation in it. To my eye this image works a lot better, but I'd be interested in your opinion. For convenience I'll repost the original version in the comments.
7Dii, 500mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC, bean bag on truck windowsill, iso 800, f5.6, 1/1600, Aperture Priority, no exposure compensation. Cropped to 8.8MP from the original 20. Taken February 15th at 7:22 am.
I appreciate all your comments on the Pyrrhuloxia and look forward to your comeents on this one.

Thanks again.
You're right. It is much better. Really like the position of this guy.
Wow Dennis, love this POV and the dynamic pose with its tail twistin' intensity
Forget the busy setting as you call it (I disagree), the raptor carries the day here..
Sharp details, great exposure. Very well done!
PS: Had an adult Cooper's do a high-speed sweep past my nose this am, all I could do was reach out & feel the wake
Forgot to weigh in.. Yes, your works a great improvement. 100% better
Yes the reworked image is slightly better but this is always going to be one of those busy images but at the same time it looks very natural. Graham
The hawk stands out better now from the background. If you have the background selected, you also might try a gentle blur to further separate.
Dennis this is an improvement over the last posting. There is definatley more detail visible in the hawk in this version. The bg is busy but is indeed "natural". The intense pose of the RT Hawk makes this image work. Nice Capture.
Your re-processed version is much more pleasing to my eye. I'm glad you went back to this image. Great action and intensity you captured here.
Dennis, much, much better!
Dennis, I agree with others I like this processing better than the original. For me, this is always going to be a busy image and nothing wrong with that...it is simply an environmental image shoiwng a hawk in it's habitat.
Nice catch Dennis, I like the re-work, Ray
