Late evening shot of the Orchard Oriole female at my watering hole. The male's still around, but very timid and hard to catch out in the open so far..

F/6.3, 1/320th, ISO 800, 5DM2, 300mm f/2.8 + 2x ext. around 7:00pm & light clouds.

We got a sprinkle last night that broke the dry spell, yeah!blush

Very cool, Howard.  I really like this series with the female oriole.  Nice pose and reflection in this one

The expression of alertness on this Oriole is cool.  The positioning between the flowers and the reflection of the flowers creates a nice contrast.

This watering hole is highly productive, Howard. The flowers/water/reflection makes a great setting. This oriole image is perfectly composed. devil

WOW, this avian image gets some really nice support from the surrounding rocks, water, and plants too. Howard, just as a question, does this female color seem a bit green compared to the male you're seeing around the site? The reason I ask is the couple orioles we have visiting our yards off and on both seem more yellow then green. Just curious if it was more of a species thing from Texas to Calif. or not. Or is it a male / female thing.
