Always look up!!!

Sorry folks, I have been extremely busy shooting and my travelling took me back to a location I truly love, images of that trip will follow at some point I hope when time allows, just so nice to travel and get away from the more the more mundane backyard!!

Taken in July, howevever in the last few months I've been thinking how/where can I push myself and to 'push that envelop?'

So with these guys I moved further away and used smaller lens, plus as the two juveniles were growing up at a rate of knots, I felt that it was fair if I used some simple food in return for their cooperation, so yes, just to clarify, this is BAITED! Both parents and juveniles have become very accustomed to the shutter and rarely take notice, so another reason to try something new. Any signs of stress etc and I would have stopped, no question!

Shot on a very unpredictable afternoon, the sky had that impending rain front with dark clouds and opposite that bright sunlight, if you know what I mean, hence one of the additional bolt-ons. remotely shot 40m away, but all good experience and worth IMHO, a punt. The arching branches are the Willow tree they reside in and their favourite bale too. Remember, I'm second guessing on a lot of this, especially direction & position in frame.

Excellent work, Steve.  The wide lens and huge dof really make for an interesting composition.  The bird's location and wing position are just perfect.  Well done.

Hi Steve

Great work, This guy looks like super Owl. The clouds and the juveniles winds make the shot.

Steve: I'm not a bird guy but this is compelling. Marvelous comp and the wing pose and look of intense concentration on the owl is marvelous. 2 thumbs up. >=))>

Hey Steve,
Creative and well executed techniques have resulted in an excellent image for you. This has a real 'Studio' feel to it that is outstanding. These are the kind of shots that make money these days. I would however consider cloning out the building at lower right.
