Here is another from my recent trip to Bisti De-Na-Zin. The storm was moving very fast and coming straight overhead. Phillip Noll Jr and made a beeline for cover shortly after this exposure. Nikon D7100, Sigma 10-20 f/4, 1/50 sec @ 16, tripod.

The FG formation really fits this unfolding very dramatic sky. A sky with any drama is something we very seldom see in our Calif. deserts....
No thoughts for change here, just looks very prehistoric in more ways then just the formation. Maybe it's the Land Time Forgot look about it.....
Well, I'd be running for cover, too! This is really excellent. The rocks and the clouds work really well together. The mammatus clouds are awesome! I would have loved to have seen this.

Those clouds are awesome and well captured. Another very cool comp.....
I love the sense of movement in the clouds and how it echoes the leaning forward impression of the rock formation (hoodoo?). It definitely gives the viewer a sense that both the weather and the land are rushing toward us.
Dramatic stuff, Bob, wouldn't change a thing.
Crazy beautiful sky. Bizarre formation and sky together. BW would be pretty cool too. The righ sky boarder looks a little green compared to the sky next to it - might try to keep a consistant color balance.
Nice combination of cloud shape and rock, and color difference. However this feels unbalanced to me due to the leftward "lean" of the rock and the big rock top being on the left ; seems more space on the left is needed.
Nice capture of some unique conditions. Presentation is first-rate.
Those mammatus clouds really make the shot. Good stuff.
