Well taken!! Great that you were able to hold detail in the squirrels body and retain the backlight. Where was this taken? Thanks for sharing.

Hi John, Whilst the majority of red squirrels are found in Scotland there are small pockets in Wales, Northern England and Isle of Wight. This was taken in one of the woods in the North Yorkshire Dales. Graham

Nice pose and I like how the backlight shows the fur on the squirrel's tail. Nicely done, Graham!

Hello Graham
The Powerful Backlighting certainly gets attention! Nice pose, showing off the detailed tail & whiskers. Maybe some selective adjustments on body area to bring out a little more detail, without disturbing the global capture.

The sliver of light between rump and tail are important to making this work! Good pose and comp. The only thing I would try would be a minor reduction in the saturation of the blues in the snow.

Very beautiful back lighting! I like the composition, especially the curves formed by the rock and tail. The snow adds beauty to the shot. Well done!

Graham,
I never knew thre were Red Squirrels in Yorkshire, but it is a big place.
This works very well, I agree with Lon on trying to adjust the "blue" snow

Beautiful rim lighting here Graham, a different presentation of a squirrel in the snow which works well. Good to see you posting again!
