One July night during my week in the san Juans of Colorado was spent at the top of Corkscrew overlooking the Red Mountains. The morning woulld break clear, but the earth shadow provided some nice color in the sky.

Not only nice color in the sky but wonderful color everywhere else. Sharp, well composed and just plain excellent.

Very nice Colorado color. The flow of the hematite stained cliffs lead into those beautiful mountains. Nice job especially when viewed large.

The larger image is a must see... Some wonderful lines and colors through the scree field, bring me up to the rocky cliffs and snow fields. Those sky colors really compliment the land forms. Beautifully composed and balanced. Adding this one to my flagged list!.

Very nice, Doug. You did an excellent job with this. The color looks natural and I like the various layers.

Having been to the San Juans for the first time this past July, I really appreciate this photo. You captured so nicely the sweeping reds in the mountain, surrounded by green forests. The pink and blue morning sky is the frosting on the cake! Beautiful place, refelcted in this gorgeous photo.

The red ridge in the foreground stands out nicely here, Doug. As you say, the earth shadow adds some fine gentle colors in the sky that complement the reds in the foreground very well.

Thank you all for your comments. I was wondering about the amount of sky, but no one mentioned it, so will assume all is well.

Really nice color and clarity, Doug. On second look after reading your comment: yes, I might crop out just the top of that sky.
