Here's Phoebe, a rescue that had some physical problems to overcome. After about 4 months she's very playful, happy, and loyal. She must be a mix of at least four types of breeds, but she loves to swim. We were trying to teach her to fetch a toy out of the water. The light was hard, but the entertainment couldn't be passed up. I've never seen a dog do a 180 turn and a 180 flip at the same time and still track the toy while standing chest deep in the water.

10 commentsAn absolutely wonderful action shot of a very acrobatic best friend. The water ( and mud or sand) drops really add to it, but the tail stream is what makes this quite special. You were even able to include the bumper, and the water edge is level. Very nice.
Awesome shot Jerry, great to see you posting too!
Rescue dogs are the best and Phoebe is one lucky pooch to be given this new lease on life.
Exciting image Jerry!
Love the dogs focus on the red object, and the trailing water spray adds to the sense of movement/action nicely..
Great outdoor setting & story, sure would've liked to have seen her in action
Thanks Jim, Jim, and Howard. My wife thinks she rescued us, since we lost our chocolate lab a year ago and our yellow lab a few years ago. We're still hurting from that, but Phoebe is a new light in the room.

A great action shot and a good story to back it up. I am glad to see the recovery of rescue dogs in a loving home. Our neighbor across the street keeps a house full of dogs. It is a treat to watch her walk five dogs, all rescue dogs, at once. All are well behaved and walk with a minimum of fuss.
Some is having fun!
Great action shot of a happy dog. Even though the light was hard, I think this works nicely!

It's been a busy week or so and I just noticed this. Thanks for the editors pick!
Congratulations! I love this action shot. The water spray and beads show just how determined she was to retrieve the toy. The muddy feet add that I don't care attitude, just let me get the red thingie.
