Tufted Titmouse

Another from Falcon State Park on the same day as the last image.  I deliberately restrained myself from cropping too much here as I wanted to keep this small bird in context.

7Dii, 300mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC, hand held on picnic table, f/5.6 1/200, iso 1250, aperture priority, center weighted average metering, no compensation.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cropped to 10MP.  Taken in the campground at 8:26 am on March 2nd.

I really appreciate your comments on the Cardinal and look forward to your views on this image.

Thanks,

The titmouse looks at home, Dennis. Good shot! Perfect pose and eye contact, good detail. I think you had good fortune. These guys flit around so fast, by the time you acquire focus and compose, they are gone. You wound up with a well balanced photo. 'Nuff said.devil

I especially like this environment Dennis, nice. Excellent comp, like the birds position in the frame & the 'context' as you say..

Bird's sharp, great natural color. Well done!

Nice catch, Dennis. By the time I see a Titmouse it is there no more. You have this one composed in the right place in the frame and sharp. The habitat adds to the comp and the distant BG dof keeps my eye where it should be.  Well done.

Really nice image Dennis with sharp details in the Titmouse. It makes a very calm scene with the included habitat, well done!  devil

This is another beauty Dennis laugh A very nice veiw of the bird with a equally valuable feel for its habitat.
