At least I think I remember seeing the crown when I was photographing this bird back in March.

7Dii, 500mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC, Jobu Gimbal on RRS legs, f/5.6, 1/500, iso 1250, aperture priority, center weighted average metering, +1 stop for the bright bg. Processed in LR5 & CS6. Just perked up the bird a trifle, rotated a touch and cropped.  Final size is 12.4 MP.  Taken at Bentsen Rio Grande State Park in Texas under dreary skies at 9:51 am on March 1st.

I really appreciate all the comments on the Cardinal and look forward to hearing from you on this image.

Thanks,

Nice pose and overall colors in the image. The rounded streaks in the ULC are a littel distracting to me personally, but other than the a fine image and composition ! Cheers, Hans

Hi Dennis,

The streaks that Hans mentioned seem to be less obvious in the larger version.  A little masking layer with a touch of Gaussian blur on t hat area could reduce it if you so desire. Nice comp and you have an ideal head turn which shows off the details on the head...............Jim

This is a fine image of the Orange-crowned Warbler. I like the pose and the twig a lot. Good detail and soft light are nice. The UL corner blur is a small distraction.
