Gray Day Heron

This was taken yesterday in early morning light with a little fog on the water. I liked that it gave the image a moody feel. I ran some noise reduction on the background. Added some contrast and cropped a little for composition.

Thanks for looking, comments & suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Hi, I like the setting and the composition. The background is nice and clean too. Good job!

What a unique perch...almost looks like three fingers sticking up. Makes for a really nice comp. Good work Steve

Nice as presented, Steve. The mood of the foggy morning, the low angle and the pleasing color palette are delightful. I think a vertical, with all of the character of the perch, would work well also. Life on the River is good.

This is superb, Steve!  The background fits the birds muted grays perfectly and everything else (focus, exposure, composition, etc.) is just right.  I really like this shot devil

Lovely composition and lighting, Steve.  I do wish the forward stub had been in focus, but that would have taken an awful large dof and I'm not sure you had the light for it.  Sweet bg and overall a lovely image.

Hey Steve,
I too like this image a lot with all the elements well placed in the frame. This would also convert well to black & white I believe and may be interesting to play with.
Well done . . .  devil
