This one was from Salineno near Falcon State Park in Texas. I really liked the calling posture, but the image had a large dark oof tree from the left side to the back of the Kiskadee. I ended up cropping some from the left adding canvas on top and to the right and painting over the dark blob with a translucent brush the same color as the foggy areas to the right of the bird. I was surprised at how well that worked.
7Dii, 500mm f4 ISL + 1.4TC, jobu gimbal on RRS legs, f/5.6, 1/1250, iso 1250, aperture priority, center weighted average metering, no compensation. Processed in LR5 & CS6, see above for processing notes. After cropping and adding canvas I ended up right about where I started for overall pixel count (20 MP). Taken March 3rd at 8:35 am.
I apprecite your comments and learn from all of them.
Thanks for looking,

Techs look excellent, great low light work!
Love the calling pose here Dennis and nice job with the processing. If you have any more room at the bottom I would include it as it's a nice perch and you would have room for the "virtual tail" then.
The background is perfect to showcase the kiskedee, Dennis. Great job with post processing. The subject is very sharp and nice pose. I too would like to see a bit more room on the bottom. I think you can selectively try brightening the malar area to bring out a bit more detail. Overall a very nice image!
Always like to see a bird calling. It adds more interest. I too would like to see a bit more of the perch.

Nice head turn and like the open beak Dennis. I do agree with Govind regarding the area to brighten a touch. Nice work!
