Rugged Pier in Brighton

This is the remains of an aged pier in Brighton, England.  It was a muggy, cloudy evening, to no ones surprise, but that never hinders Brits from appreciating the beach and the sea.

I like the scene as you have captured it.  The couple in the foreground give scale to the image.  I like that there are a couple of birds in the photo.  I wonder what it would be like if you had used a wider focal lenght and made the couple larger in the frame. Thanks for sharing.

Looks pier looks kinda lonesome out there by itself. This is a nice study in contrasts between the present and the past. The birds add a nice touch.

Elizabeth,
This is a fine look at the "Ghost Pier" in Brighton (my suggestion for a title). It is Rugged indeed with its best days obviously long gone, a feeling I can relate to all too well. You captured a fine look at this aging structure with many additional elements in the frame that add interest to the composition. The one thing that captures my attention is how large the sand particles are on the beaches in England. wink
Hope you had a wonderful visit with family during your trip and I look forward to more images from overseas. crying
