Been a long time since i posted in the Wildlife gallery. Birds are leaving for the fall/winter, so my focus is now more on wildlife. It has literally been 5 years since I've had a fox to photograph. Since they are one of my favorite animals, you can say I have been itching to find even one subject. Finally I found a young fox who was very friendly and hung around for awhile. I haven't seen her since, but she gave me a good hour on this morning. This was This was about an hour after sunrise (which was stil behind the mounatin), so I had very little light.

12 commentsKurt, a beautiful portrait of this fox - she made it worth your wait!
Hi Kurt,
Wonderful details on the face. The reflection in the eye is awesome. The muzzle stands out from the BG and you have enough DOF to get the whiskers.

Hello Kurt
Well done with very sharp capture here. The morning is showing with quite cool lighting, from my notebook monitor?
These sharp featured guys are great to see and maybe capture some of their personality too !
Thanks for sharing

Nice alert pose. Would not know this was at 3200 ISO. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful, crisp shot of one of my favourite animals. To me the white has got a blue cast over it, I would play with the white balance a bit or reduce the colour blue selectively. But great shot otherwise

Beautiful details Kurt, love that green bg too, I'm seeing a touch of noise in the bg but not bad.
Hi Kurt
It looks like the wait has been worth it. The head shot is really nice.

Hi Kurt,
Good to see you back posting here - I always enjoy your images. This is a very solid portrait - what sticks out for me is the strong "focus" (attention) the fox is giving "something", and how the whiskers show so nicely against the dark background. For me it feels just a little bit tight on the bottom, but that's clearly a personal preference thing and I noticed no one else has felt this way (so maybe it's just me!).
Cheers...

Kurt : nicely done is all aspects. I like how the detail of the fox stands out against the smooth oof background. Congrats! Richard
