I found this group of Aspen leaves resting on Ponderosa Pine needles during a quiet morning in Lee Vining Canyon.

Tachihara 4x5
Fujinon 180mm
Astia 100F
TK's masks, cropped to square. I also used a color balance layer, selecting only the granite, in order to achieve a more neutral color balance.
October 2008

Please see the larger version. Thanks!

Your thoughts are always appreciated. cool

Very sweet, Preston. Fine intimate image. Well seen scene.

Looks like a faint bit of magenta in the granite?

Preston, these type of scenes are always a favorite for me. The rock formation does a perfect job of isolating or framing the leaves and needles IMO.  As always, Astia treats the yellows and green very nicely and true to color. An extremely solid image......laugh

Preston, This is a wonderful image and the larger version is a real pleasure to view. The composition works great and then you have wonderful light, color and details that just bring it alive. Impressive work to my eyes! devil Nick

Nice image Preston. I like the small green needle at the bottom. Some may find it objectionable and that it doesn't belong in this composition but I like it. It adds a little variety to it in a way that makes it interesting.I can see the magenta Harley is talking about but would not have noticed it without it being pointed out.

Preston, I really enjoy your composition with the delicate leaves and needles embedded within the solid granite. The square format fits in well with the scene to my eye.

This is a lovely, intimate look at fall, Preston.  It speaks well of the quietness of the season.  I especially like the single green needle gracing the lower rock.

<div>clear and pleasurable composition, soft tones but also very good sharpness, calm and natural colours.</div> <div>An example of how one can to find/render an excellent image also without fireworks or super saturation and contrast and detail extraction.</div> <div>all the best,
