Too Cool For School

This Crowned Night Heron was totally uninhibited as we slowly drifted by to the point that he gave us a disgusted glance while perched on one foot soaking up the warm rays of the afternoon sun. (hence the title)
This is an older image that I posted in 2012 but is no longer in my gallery. I have kinda always liked it for some reason and reworked it lately with newer techniques for me and the image and here you go. Full frame, hand held from boat.

Teacher, how long do I have to stand here on one foot.  Great capture and concentration and agility.  First-rate detail in the wings and face.  indecision

Night Heron with attitude.  I am impressed with the sharpness of this image especially with 2X and HH from boat.  The large image is better.

Lovely detail in the plumage and I like the light and pose.  Well done, Mike.
