Clover

No idea what kind, but it has fairly large flower clusters (3/4 inch or so in diameter).  Not the most pristine of blooms, but it's that time of year up here.  I experimented with several f-stops on this one and liked the results of this one the best.

5Diii, 180mm f3.5 macro, tripod, f/9, 1/160, iso 800, aperture priority, pattern metering, no compensation, backlit by a fairly bright but overcast sky.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  I isolated the in-focus portions of the bloom and gave them a bit of a sharpnes and vibrance boost.  Cropped to ~15MP.  Taken yesterday at 1:33 pm in my back yard.

I appreciate all your comments and look forward to your input on this image.

Thanks,

Always a good call to treat isolated segments differently! Well processed and thought out. Red clover (Trifolium pretense), I think. My only slight nit is a wish for a fresher bloom.

The tonality of this is exquisite, Dennis - the background colours blending with and at the same time setting off the plant to perfection.
