The clouds moved in later and dumped a fair amount of rain. The tranisition as the sun was setting was a beatiful thing to witness.

It just doesn't get much better, Harley.  Must have been magestic to witness.  This is the essence of the Utah high country.  Really sweet.

This is seriously nice! The light is beautiful and that sky is sureal. The composition is spot-on.

Great job! devil

Harley: the contrast between the golden lit field and trees against the impending storm tells the story very well. This photo is best viewed large. Hng it!! This looks like one of those times when everything comes together and you were there to capture it. Sweet light and powerful sky.

Ominous feel to this, like the storm is creeping up on the unaware aspen.  What is not to like!  Gorgeous lighting.

This is very dramatic with incredible light. It looks a lot like Conway Pass but it could be anywhere really. Nice job. I can also see a panorama here with a large portion of the dark sky removed. That would emphasize the horizontal lines and add an extra layer to the image. That would be an alternative but it's fine the way it is.

Perfectly composed with the lit trees against the dark silhouettes of the hills, that makes them stand out very well. And the dark clouds add some great atmosphere.

Super light, Harley. So nice the way the trees are just below the far, dark, ominous ridge. The oranges and blacks work well for Halloween, too ;-)

Hi Harley,

Yes I agree how sweet the light is in the fg, and I particularly enjoy the second set of Aspens on the far hill. They help to move the eye along, and provide some balance for myself. The brooding clouds work so well with the sweet light.
