Amazon Kingfisher

We have been enjoying a beautiful warm October here in Saskatchewan and I have been either walking in the local parks or cleaning up my yard and my posting has been neglected.

This image of an Amazon Kingfisher was taken at Piuval Lodge in the Pantanal of Brazil in August of this year. For this photograph I used a Nikon D810 camera, a 300 2.8 lens, a 1.4 tc, f 4.5, 1/1250, ISO 320, hand held.

Awesome capture of this beautiful bird. The background colors matching the colors on the bird are great and the perch is nice as well. The whites on the neck look a touch hot - based on the low ISo you should be able to recover them a bit more

I was inthe Pantanal last fall. A totally awesome place to photograph birds.

A great capture of the intensity in these little guys. The whites in the necklook just a little hot; as Luke suggests, you sould be able to pull some detail out in post-processing.

Fantastic bird, pose and setting ! Agree with Luke on the whites, however I would be very pleased with a shot like this enlightened
